In the transitional period of spring months in the UAE, periodic weather variability is expected due to atmospheric systems. The country will continue to experience low pressure and upper air disturbances, which may lead to the formation of convective clouds, thunderstorms, strong winds, sandstorms, and reduced visibility.
The average air temperature will range from 22°C to 25°C, with the maximum temperature expected to range between 27°C and 32°C. The lowest temperature recorded in March was documented in Jabal Jais in 2019 and was 1.0°C, while the highest temperature, recorded at 43.1°C, was registered in Saih Al Salam and Suwayhan in 2018.
The humidity level is expected to decrease slightly compared to February, averaging at 51%. The UAE National Center of Meteorology advises residents to stay updated with official weather forecasts, especially regarding possible rains, dust storms, and sandstorms. The equinox of spring on March 21 symbolizes the geographical transition into a new season, as the sun moves north to the Tropic of Cancer.
As for the month of Ramadan, weather will primarily be mild in all regions of the country, though increased temperatures may be expected in the second half of the month. Last year, the highest wind speed was recorded at 123 km/h on Delma Island and wind gusts at 183 km/h at Abu Dhabi airport in 2002.
The duration of fasting during Ramadan will gradually increase. In Abu Dhabi, the time between dawn (Fajr) and sunset (Maghrib) starts at approximately 13 hours at the beginning of the month and extends to 13 hours and 41 minutes by the end. Traditional March 2010 recorded the largest number of sandy days - 15 days with sand and 4 days with rain.
Minor rains are possible following low pressure systems in March. The average wind speed is expected to be around 13 km/h, but strong gusts are possible. The average maximum relative humidity will range from 70% to 84%, while the minimum will be from 19% to 33%. The highest recorded rainfall in March was 300 mm in Al Shuwayb in 2016. Formation of fog and haze is likely, especially in certain areas, but nighttime and morning hours will remain pleasant.
